Our pre-season working party are working very hard in preparing the green and surrounds in readiness for our opening on 13 April. Our new shed has been erected and it is looking wonderful even before it is painted. This will provide much needed additional storage space and will be much sturdier than the one replaced.

We declared our green open for the 2025 season on Sunday 13 April by playing the annual Cockhouse Cup men v ladies match. This was followed by refreshments and drinks in The Pavilion. A great start to the new season.

Our 2025 Open Afternoon was a tremendous success and it was great seeing the green so busy with prospective players.

We were delighted to be invited to host The Amy Rose Bowl, a Bowls England Regional Final for Ladies aged 24 and under. The weather was perfect and it was a fantastic day. The club was delighted to receive so many compliments about our facilities, our welcome, catering and overall atmosphere. The East Anglian’s won and go forward to The Aviva National Finals in Leamington.

6 members entered the 2025 Annual Ramsey Triples Day and enjoyed every moment. The weather was perfect even with tremendous gusts of wind! It was a very well organised day and a pleasure meeting and playing with like minded bowlers.

MADAM CHAIRS CHALLENGE 2025
For 2025 our Chair organised an Aussie Pairs Challenge and introduced members to this format. After some instruction, members taking part soon got into the swing of the 2-4-2 game. A couple of Dame Edna’s were in attendance and everyone had a grteat afternoon of bowling

Madam Chair!

Week 2 of Madam Chairs Challenge and another bright, sunny afternoon. Great fun again with the outcome of the competition going down to the final ends. Well done to our runners up John and Chrissie and our winners, Mandy and Norman.

FINALS DAY 2025
The weather forecast was not on our side as we approached our Finals Day scheduled for Sunday 14 September. A quick re-organisation saw some matched played on Saturday and others on the Sunday with a couple postponed due to illness. All matches were played in a great spirit and there was some excellent bowling. Our thanks are extended to Kevin for his fantastic work as our Competitions Secretary. Well done to all winners and thanks to supporters, those who ran the BBQ, those who set up and packed away, markers and competitors for being flexible on timings. A list of winners and runners up can be found by clicking on the link below.
Our last club match of the season, The Memorial Shield played in bright sunshine and in the best of spirits. Great fun and great camaraderie.

END OF SEASON SOCIAL AND PRESENTATION NIGHT 2025
Members enjoyed a fabulous evening at The Pavilion for our end of season social and presentation night. Mandy provided ‘simple cheese platters’ which was a wonderful spread beautifully laid out. A great atmosphere of fun, friendship and camaraderie formed through the club.
