16 members undertook first aid skills for life training on 16 April 2024. The club is now well covered in case of incident. The session was led by Emma who was a superb course leader. Thank you Emma.

The Cock House Cup 2024
The green was perfect and so was the weather for the start of the new season on 14 April 2024. 26 members played in the annual Cockhouse Cup ladies v men match with the men just securing the victory.
An afternoon of fun, friendship, camaraderie and bowls followed by superb refreshments and a drink.
OPEN AFTERNOON 21 APRIL 2024
The weather was kind to us as we held our annual open afternoon. We were absolutely ‘bowled over’ (!) to welcome so many prospective new members to the club. Everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon having a go at bowling, learning about the game and meeting club members who were on hand to give help and guidance. As members were missing their Wednesday afternoon Over 60’s League, our Chair arranged 3 matches of 3-wood triples. Players changed positions after every 6 ends: lead -2-skip; skip-lead-2; 2-skip-lead. Most members managed this although some were confused! Dress code was ‘dress down’ and some bright shirts were seen on the green. Thanks to John Mitchley the bar opened early for members to head to after the games.
The winners were ‘The Four Candles’ John & Chrissie Wilson, Steve Williams (1 match) and Tony Whitehill (2 matches).
